I was asked how this carbon tax protest has affected me? I came on day one to hold my Canadian flag and stand against the 4th increase of the carbon tax since 2019. What I saw was a massive over use of RCMP resources, equipment and overwhelming budget waste just to stop farmers, carpenter, nurses, teachers, childcare works and waste removal experts ect. These legal protesters stood their ground. This was a frightening experiences for John and Jane doe from Alberta standing at the edge of an Alberta highway #1 & 22 facing off with police officers in tactical gear carrying automatic weapons and rubber slug rifles. i saw paramedic dressed in full military camouflage with big police patch on his back small paramedic name tag on his chest truly this baffled me military RCMP over a peaceful legal protest. This did not seem right to me so I stuck around. After 2 days the RCMP reduced and backed off just continuing video surveillance and random patrols, which would have work right from the start to be honest. This I saw as a great decision and thank whoever in the RCMP that had common sense to pull these outrageous officers. From that time until day. I have seen tragic events and heard the most courageous stories from the most amazing strong people. I had the most amazing sheriff' actually give his name, regiment number and card before engaging in conversation. All These people come from every part of Canada and worldwide. Over all the stories I've heard, consistently they say, "everything cost to much already and now this carbon tax will hurt us deeply. Stop this please we cant afford any more taxes." This protest over any other I've attended has changed my heart and mind and demanded and revealed a need to emphasize with hurting, broken and stressed Canadians. I am humbly thankful for every stories I was privileged to hear.
God bless
